WND was retained by Davpart Inc to assist in the application approval process for a proposed phased mixed-use development located at 31 Tapscott Road. The proposed development is intended to redevelop the existing shopping centre with a vibrant and pedestrian friendly mixed-use community with immediate access to the Malvern stop on the Eglinton East Light Rail Transit (EELRT) line planned along Neilson Road.

A key element of the community is a large central public park that would be programmed by the City of Toronto and designed to support both active and passive recreational opportunities. The central park would be connected to Tapscott Road and McLevin Avenue, and connect to the proposed development internally through several pedestrian connections and public roads, which will promote the amenity as the focus of the community.

Other open spaces, including plazas and privately-owned publicly accessible open space (POPS), would be integrated within the overall pedestrian network, including public street intersections and mid-block connections.

The development is currently under review.
