In Memory of Peter Robert Walker, FCIP, RPP

1944-2023

WND is sad to announce the passing of its founder, Peter Robert Walker, FCIP, RPP. Peter passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, with his son David at his side. He was 79 years of age. He is survived by his wife Karen (nee Ellis), three sons Derek (Kevin), Dave (Kirsti) and Greg (Courtney) and five grandchildren Finn, Raine, Atle, Avery, and Emerson.

Peter was a pioneer and leader in the field of urban planning consulting. He was one of the founding partners of Walker Wright Young Associates Limited in 1973, which ultimately became Walker Nott Dragicevic Associates Limited (WND) in 1992, of which we was President until his retirement. Peter loved his work and enjoyed a prestigious 54 year career, contributing to the development of the urban landscape across Ontario and Canada through his work at WND as an expert consultant for countless planning projects and clients.  His career led to the creation of tens of thousands of homes, hundreds of thousands of square metres of commercial space and employment uses, and countless other achievements in the field of planning, facilitating transformational growth throughout our province.

Peter began his well-earned retirement in 2014, leaving the firm in the capable hands of Wendy Nott, FCIP, RPP, Robert A. Dragicevic, MCIP, RPP, and later Andrew Ferancik, MCIP, RPP.  WND is committed to honouring his legacy by continuing the work that Peter started, and never ceasing to pursue the achievement of “good planning”.
