WND Associates is a boutique urban planning and design firm providing expert planning and design services to a wide range of clients including private landowners, public institutions, municipalities, and individual homeowners. Our work over the past four decades has facilitated the development of thousands of properties throughout Ontario – places that people now work, learn, play, shop and call home. The firm’s reputation for tenacity in shepherding projects through from conception to conclusion is well established and respected in the industry.

The firm was established in 1992 as Walker, Nott, Dragicevic Associates Limited, a name chosen to reflect the leadership and expertise of the founding principals. The firm evolved from predecessor consulting firms dating back to 1973, 1976 and 1981 when it was known as Walker, Wright, Young Associates Limited. The founding principals continue to play key roles in the ongoing evolution and growth of the firm in the 21st century.

Andrew Ferancik, MCIP, RPP Principal

Andrew has over 17 years of planning experience both in the public and private sector. In 2015, Andrew became a Principal of the firm.

Andrew has been, and continues to be, involved in a broad range of projects in the City of Toronto and throughout the Greater Toronto Area with a particular emphasis on urban redevelopment and intensification projects including low-, mid- and high-rise residential, office, mixed use, retail, institutional, and plans of subdivision. Andrew is also involved in Lease Arbitration and Expropriation cases and is often retained by clients to provide general advice on emerging planning policy issues.

Andrew regularly appears before Councils, Development Committees, Committees of Adjustment and the public relative to a wide range of projects. Additionally, Andrew has participated in numerous Ontario Municipal Board (OMB), Local Planning Appeals Tribunal (LPAT) and Toronto Local Appeal Body (TLAB) proceedings and has been called to testify in defense of his planning opinion on many occasions. Andrew possesses the analytical, communicative and organizational skills necessary to undertake and manage planning projects from start to finish.

Andrew is passionate about the role of cities in improving quality of life and promoting economic health and sustainability. A lifelong Toronto resident, Andrew strives to gain an understanding of urban issues from a first-hand perspective, and apply those observations to each assignment.

Andrew is a full member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Planners and a Member of Lambda Alpha (Simcoe Chapter).

Bob Dragicevic, MCIP, RPP

Bob Dragicevic has over 40 years of planning experience and joined the predecessor firms to Walker, Nott, Dragicevic Associates Limited in 1979, becoming a Principal in 1984.

Bob is considered by many to be a leading planning consultant in a wide variety of land use planning matters. Bob has applied his experience and energetic project management skills to development applications diverse in both type and scale, in numerous municipalities throughout Ontario.

Bob’s work for the public sector includes providing full municipal planning services. School Boards from across Ontario seek Bob’s advice on matters related to site acquisition for elementary and secondary schools, surplus property disposition, Education Development Charges studies and advising on matters of municipal policy reviews and development applications.

Bob also developed a facility approvals and municipal consultation process for one of the first major, second-generation wireless telecommunications networks in Ontario, introducing photographic simulation as an integral part of the consultation process.

As a result of his extensive involvement in such a wide variety of planning policy and development matters, Bob has provided expert planning evidence before the Ontario Municipal Board and the Provincial Courts on numerous occasions throughout his career.

Bob is a full member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Planners.

Wendy Nott, FCIP, RPP

Wendy is well known to municipalities across Southern Ontario for her ability to construct innovative policy, zoning and guideline documents such as Official Plans, Secondary Plans, comprehensive zoning by-laws and urban design guidelines, successfully defending these documents before the Ontario Municipal Board on numerous occasions.

Her accomplishments extend into the land development realm and are exemplified in her comprehensively planned communities and neighbourhoods across Southern Ontario, consisting of both small and large-scale communities and redevelopment projects combining a mix of residential, commercial, institutional, recreational and industrial uses.

Wendy Nott joined Walker, Nott, Dragicevic Associates Limited in 1977, becoming a Principal in 1984. Throughout her career, Wendy has applied her substantial land use planning experience and knowledge representing clients in expropriation and Ontario Municipal Board (now LPAT) proceedings, and more recently at the Toronto Local Appeals Body (TLAB).

Wendy was appointed as a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners in 2004 in recognition of her standards of professional practice and contributions to the planning community at-large.

Tyler Peck, MCIP, RPP Senior Planner

Tyler has over ten years of experience in the field of planning, and has worked for both public and private sector organizations. His experience covers land use and development planning, as well as sustainability and energy consulting.

Tyler’s practice covers a variety of projects in the City of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, with a particular focus on urban development and intensification projects. His experience includes providing planning consulting services for low-, mid- and high-rise residential, mixed use, office, retail, institutional, industrial, recreational and entertainment developments, as well as plans of subdivision.

He is an analytical and detail-oriented professional with expertise covering the development approval process, planning policy and urban environmental issues.

Tyler received a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree in Planning from the University of Waterloo and also holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Cities from King’s College London. Tyler is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

Shannon Sigouin, MCIP, RPP Senior Urban Designer

Shannon has over 18 years of experience in the field of Urban Design and has worked on a wide range of projects including designing master plans, producing and assisting in implementing plans of subdivision, and developing site plans and conceptual designs.

She has extensive experience in the preparation of urban design and architectural design guidelines for numerous projects. Shannon has also peer reviewed many urban design guidelines on behalf of municipalities within the GTA and has developed a good understanding of various practical and insightful solutions they offer.

Shannon also has experience in development analysis and approvals, project management and the preparation of expert evidence for the Ontario Municipal Board Hearings, now know as the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT).

Shannon holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University, and is a full member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Planners.

Sean McGaffey Urban Designer and Planner

Sean’s experience lies at the intersection of land use planning and urban design consultancy services for public and private sector clients in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. He frequently works with a diverse range of clients to in the development approvals process, with experience in both land use planning and urban design matters.

Sean is a dedicated professional whose experience includes the preparation of planning and urban design reports and studies, the coordination of development applications and processing, public consultation sessions, preparation of masterplans and plans of subdivision, development of conceptual massing scenarios, shadow studies and incremental analysis, and development feasibility analysis. He is also experienced in the preparation of visual evidence and explanatory exhibits for numerous Committee of Adjustment, OMB, LPAT and TLAB hearings.

Sean has a broad knowledge of Provincial, Regional and Municipal policies and planning documents and is experienced in urban and rural (agricultural) land use planning and design matters and has appeared before various Councils, Committees of Adjustment and Heritage Advisory panels.

Sean McGaffey holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Planning with a specialization in Urban Design from the University of Waterloo.

Emilio Deo Planner

Emilio has over five years of experience in the field of planning, and has worked for both public and private sector organizations. His experience covers land use and development planning, policy planning and urban design.

Emilio is a team-oriented professional who uses his coordination skills and interpersonal connections to facilitate land development approvals as efficiently as possible. His experience includes providing planning consulting services for low-, mid- and high-rise residential, mixed use, and commercial developments across the City of Toronto and Greater Toronto Area, providing services such as due diligence planning review, coordination of development application submissions, preparation of planning justification reports, liaison with municipal staff, and public consultation.

Emilio received a Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from Ryerson, with specialization in Private Real Estate Development. He is also a Candidate Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

Brandon Kashin Planner

Brandon has over three years of experience in the field of planning, and has worked for both public and private sector organizations. His experience covers land use and development planning.

Having participated in projects spanning the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area and beyond, Brandon has broad knowledge of provincial, regional and municipal planning policy documents. He has managed and assisted on a number of development applications in the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area through the coordination of development applications, the preparation of Planning Justification Reports, and conducting of preliminary policy and regulatory reviews.

Brandon is a Candidate Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

Dominik Matusik Planner

Dominik has previously worked in a wide range of roles in the private and public sector, including internationally, and as a reporter on planning issues for a major regional newsletter.

Dominik’s experience encompasses a wide range of projects in the Greater Toronto Area with a particular focus on minor variance, zoning by-law and official plan amendment applications proposing intensification.

Dominik received a Master of Planning degree from Queen’s University in 2016. Previously, Dominik received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2014 from the University of Calgary. Dominik is a Candidate Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
